Mines United Football Club chairman Mathew Mohan has probably shocked many, especially the club’s followers with his decision of channeling a K100,000 from Football Association of Zambia – FAZ to the community.
The country’s soccer governing body – FAZ paid a K100,000 to Mohan’s team for playing in the playoff.
Surprisingly, Mohan announced that the club had decided to donate the entire K100,000 to sink 5 boreholes in 5 selected community points in Makululu in Kabwe, the team’s home town.
He says Mine bola’s gesture is aimed at making a difference in Makululu township which has in the recent past experienced water challenges.
Mohan says his club attached community development as a main agenda in football development, adding that Mines United wants to transform Makululu into a developed community.
