The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has successfully held a four days orientation training programme on the effective and efficient implementation of the three Social Protection components under the Food Security Pack (FSP) Programme.

The three components include Rainfed Cropping, Wetlands Cropping and Alternative Livelihood Intervention (ALI).

The training was offered by the support Departments namely; Procurement, Finance, Human Resource and Administration and Internal Audit. These lessons equipped the attendees with knowledge on transparency, procurement procedures, good work ethics, among others, all anchored on the need to render quality service in order to reduce and ultimately end extreme poverty and vulnerability across the country.

Speaking when she officially closed the training workshop in Chongwe, Director for Community Development, Ms. Patricia Muyamwa, encouraged the attendants to work tirelessly and apply the knowledge they have acquired to bring positive change in people’s lives through selfless service.

She said such capacity-building training would be an ongoing thing, in the spirit of promoting co-existence and enhance work output with regards to various social protection programmes being implemented across the country.

Ms. Muyamwa further cautioned against departing from stipulated financial guidelines in the implementation of all empowerment programmes, in order to avoid compromising service delivery.

Ms. Muyamwa also advised the attendants to seek guidance from the Ministry Headquarters regarding any information that they might need to improve on their work.
