Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Permanet Secretary, Ms.Angela Kawandami has officially launched the orientation workshop for Provincial and District Community Development Officers, with a call for commitment and dedication to service.
The workshop held in Chongwe, was aimed at sharing the best practices in management, leadership and programming in order to accelerate the graduation of beneficiaries, the poor and vulnerable households from poverty, onto a path of self-sustainability, food security and poverty reduction.
Ms. Kawandami indicated that fighting poverty and vulnerability of poor and marginalized in society was the Ministry’s main mandate, hence the need for commitment and dedication among officers.
She also urged participants to adhere to the core values of the Ministry which include dignity, confidenciality, teamwork and partnership.
“It is for this reason that you will be required to spend more time with clients to understand and appreciate their needs and doing so, it is demanded that you observe human diginity, confidentiality and impartiality,” Ms. Kawandami said.
And Director for Community Development, Ms. Patricia Muyamwa urged the members of staff to apply what they have learnt to enhace the work output in their various offices.
She emphasized that teamwork, dedication, transparency and effective communication is key to archieving great milestones.
