A 29-year-old mobile money agent of Macha Road Compound in Choma has allegedly been attacked, raped and robbed of K6,000 by two masked men.
The incident occurred on February 18, 2026, around 20:00 hours, after the woman knocked off from work.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo says the victim boarded a taxi to Macha Road Compound and, after alighting, walked along a footpath towards her residence.
Mr. Namalongo explains that near a stream along the path, the victim was confronted by two masked men who dragged her into a nearby bush and sexually assaulted her before stealing K6,000 from her handbag and the suspects later fled the scene.
He adds that the victim complained of general body pains and discomfort and was issued with a medical report form for examination and treatment.
Mr. Namalongo says investigations have been launched, but no arrests have been made, and the stolen money has not yet been recovered.
