Choma parliamentary hopeful Joe Muchindu has vowed to complete teacher houses in Makalakala village, addressing the community’s infrastructural challenges.
During a visit to Makalakala primary school on Thursday, Muchindu emphasized the need for improved teacher accommodation, promising to donate building materials for the project in collaboration with the community.
Among building materials expected for donation later today (Friday) are pockets of cement, roofing sheets, door and window frames.
Muchindu explained that the gesture is aimed at encouraging rural – based teachers not shun villages, emphasizing that decent teacher accommodation is key.
The aspiring parliamentarian also said the gesture is part of his contribution to President Hakainde Hichilema’s government provision of free education for all.
Muchindu was by press time purchasing the building materials for the school.
Meanwhile, Makalakala PTA chairman Edward Kanenge expressed happiness with Muchindu’s intervention, adding that the development had cheered both parents and teachers.
