Muchindu vows to block foreign investors owning land in Choma

…as he addresses over a 100 traditional leaders

2026 parliamentary hopeful for Choma, Joe Muchindu has vowed that once elected member of parliament, he would ensure that no foreign investors would by allowed to buy land from local people.

Muchindu made the statement when he addressed over a 100 village headmen and head women that gathered for a meeting at Chief Cooma’s Palace in Sikalongo ward, Choma.

The ward will be part of the yet – to – be confirmed Choma South, a constituency Muchindu eyes to contest as member of parliament in year’s general elections.

Muchindu called for partnership with the traditional leaders aimed at improving people’s livelihoods in surrounding villages, saying local people ought to benefit from their resources.

Muchindu, whose support from various traditional leaders continues to grow in his ambitions of becoming MP, assured that his focus is contributing towards community development.

And Muchindu who also contributed logistical support towards the gathering later on paid a courtesy call on chief Cooma at his palace.

The aspiring parliamentarian commended the traditional leader for his effort towards community development by facilitating the training his subjects in capacity building.

Emphasizing the need for locals to benefit from minerals mined in Choma, Muchindu suggested that all investors should be screened before engaging in any mining activities.

And Chief Cooma encouraged Muchindu to continue with his mobilization meetings, echoing the need for locals to benefit.

Meanwhile, chief Cooma expressed worry with adoption of candidates from the top at the secretariat, saying preferred candidates are always left out.

Muchindu is conducting mobilization meetings in all the wards in Choma.

He is being accompanied by former UPND district youth chairman for Choma, Charles Shapenga.
