Zambian media personality Mutale Mwanza has issued a heartfelt public apology to fellow media figure Chinyimba Daisy Mwansa Lusumpa, popularly known as Chichi Daisy, following a cyber-related matter that previously attracted public attention.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page addressed to her followers, Mutale Mwanza admitted that she wronged Chichi Daisy through posts she published on 7th November, 2024,
describing her own actions as “vile, cruel, and utterly inexcusable.”
“I Committed a Grave Wrong”
Mutale disclosed that she used her platform of over one million followers to launch a humiliating and degrading public attack against Chichi Daisy, where she allegedly used vulgar and obscene language to assassinate her character.
She further admitted that she falsely accused Chichi Daisy of being sexually promiscuous and made fabricated allegations about her private life.
“I, Mutale Mwanza, am deeply ashamed of my conduct. I humbly, unreservedly, and unconditionally apologise to Ms. Chinyimba Daisy Mwansa Lusumpa for the immense harm I have caused her,” Mutale wrote.
Mutale Admits Allegations Were Lies
In her apology, Mutale Mwanza stated clearly that all the accusations she made against Chichi Daisy were false.
“Every single allegation I made against Ms. Lusumpa was a complete and utter lie. There was not a shred of truth in anything I wrote about her,” she said.
She also condemned the language she used, describing it as dehumanising and beneath the dignity expected of any decent member of society.
Apology to the Public and Correction of the Record
Mutale Mwanza urged members of the public who may have read, shared, or believed her past posts to disregard them completely, noting that Chichi Daisy is an honourable woman who did not deserve the humiliation she was subjected to.
“To everyone who read my posts, who shared them, who believed them, or who formed a negative opinion of Ms. Lusumpa based on what I wrote, I implore you to disregard every word,” she stated.
“I Beg Your Forgiveness”
Mutale acknowledged that her posts may have caused serious emotional damage to Chichi Daisy, including public ridicule, damage to her career, relationships and standing in society.
She added that she understands words cannot be undone, but promised she would never again publish any harmful statement against Chichi Daisy.
“I have learnt… that words have consequences and that public platforms must not be used to destroy the lives of others,” Mutale said.
She ended her statement by directly appealing to Chichi Daisy for forgiveness.
“To Ms. Chinyimba Daisy Mwansa Lusumpa… from the bottom of my heart, I am truly and deeply sorry. I was wrong. I beg your forgiveness,” she wrote.
Mutale Mwanza signed off the apology dated 20-04-26, describing it as a public correction meant to restore Chichi Daisy’s reputation.
