UPND strongman Morgan Muunda has cautioned Zambians against voting out President Hakainde Hichilema in the August 13, 2026 General Elections, warning that such a decision would take the country backwards.
Speaking shortly after service at Nteme Central SDA Church in Monze, Southern Province, Muunda expressed confidence that President Hichilema will secure an easy victory, citing the UPND government’s achievements over the last five years.
He urged voters to reflect on the progress the country has made before making decisions at the ballot.
Muunda said the electorate must remember where Zambia is coming from in order to protect the gains recorded under the current administration.
Among the key achievements he highlighted was the Free Education Policy, which is now law and has ensured that every Zambian child has access to school. He said this policy alone demonstrates the UPND’s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
Muunda added that the UPND’s record of delivery is too extensive to list, but includes improvements in various sectors that have directly impacted Zambians.
He said it was for this reason that voters should give President Hichilema another term.
“The UPND has delivered. From education to the economy, we have seen real change. That is why Zambians should re-elect President Hichilema,” he told congregants.
The outspoken party member warned that voting for another candidate would reverse the progress made.
“If we vote for another person, we risk taking the nation two steps backwards,”Muunda added.
