Luapula Youth Activist Naran Bwanga Mwandu has urged the nation to prioritise morality among those aspiring for leadership positions as Zambia prepares for elections next year.
He called on citizens to reflect deeply on the integrity of individuals seeking public office, emphasising that the country must progress beyond mere electoral participation and carefully scrutinise the calibre of leaders being chosen.
Mwandu stated that excessive focus on the electoral process has overshadowed the more fundamental issues of leadership quality, vision and values.
He asserted that true national progress is not solely dependent on democratic systems but on electing individuals of integrity.
Mwandu further remarked that Zambians must abandon the practice of treating elections like beauty contests and instead demand genuine character and accountability from their leaders.
