Zambian music artist Mwembe Muntu has expressed disappointment after fellow musician Petersen Zagaze allegedly spoke negatively about him during an interview on a podcast.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Mwembe Muntu addressed Petersen directly, stating that although he does not carry hate in his heart, the comments made about him have left him deeply hurt.

“Dear Petersen Zagaze, my young brother, during your interview on a certain Podcast, you spoke so badly about me. Hate has no place in my heart, but what you did, and said about me… has really left my heart bleeding,” Mwembe wrote.

Mwembe Muntu reminded Petersen that he once supported him when he was still an upcoming artist, claiming he took him in and helped him during difficult times about 20 years ago.

He urged Petersen to avoid spreading false accusations about people, adding that such statements can damage reputations and relationships that were built through years of brotherhood in the music industry.

Mwembe further hinted that there is more history behind their relationship and suggested that the truth can be traced back by “rewinding the selector” to two decades ago when Petersen allegedly benefited from his support.

“Let’s avoid making false accusations about people. Let’s rewind selector to 20 years. May God bless you,” he added.

The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans calling for peace and reconciliation between the two artists, while others have demanded clarification on what exactly was said during the podcast interview.

Mwembe Muntu’s message has added to the growing debate surrounding loyalty, respect and accountability within Zambia’s music industry.
