A young football player from Nakonde has died on the pitch while training with his team in Nakonde this morning.
Collard Mulenga, 19, reportedly collapsed during a routine session at the Nakonde Urban Clinic Football Pitch on Monday morning.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at Nakonde urban clinic.
The cause of his death is not yet known.
MULENGA was a member of the Nakonde Town Council Football Club, which competes in the Muchinga FAZ Division One.
The club’s executive and management have expressed their sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late player.
Muchinga region FAZ General Secretary Newton Simbeye has confirmed the tragedy to Chete FM News.
Mr.Simbeye says the incident has come as a shock to the football fraternity in the province.
