A 29-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling his 7-year-old Cousin in Chipata, Eastern province.
SIMPITO MWANGALA, recently employed under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, had carnal knowledge of the minor last Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, ROBERTSON MWEEMBA has confirmed, saying the suspect was staying with the girl’s parents awaiting deployment.
Mr. MWEEMBA explained that on the material day, the suspect called the victim to his room, where he defiled her.
He said the girl’s parents were away from home when the incident happened, however she later revealed when they returned.
Mr. MWEEMBA said the matter was only reported yesterday.
