ARREST OF NOTORIOUS CRIMINALS – MTENDERE POLICE STATION
March 9, 2024-The Zambia Police Service is pleased to announce the successful apprehension and arrest of nine notorious suspected criminals by Mtendere Police Station who have been wreaking havoc and committing various offenses in Mtendere compound and its surrounding areas.
The suspects, who are all male persons with ages ranging from 12 to 19 years old, were taken into custody on the March 7, 2024 around 19:00 hours after being apprehended from Chibolya Compound.
The arrested suspects are: two male juveniles aged 12, one aged 15, three aged 16, one aged 17, one aged 18 and Joseph Zulu aged 19 nicknamed Z Commander.
All of the suspects are residents of Mutendere Compound.
The arrest operation also led to the recovery of various stolen items, including:
• A Bicycle
• A Plasma Television
• Two Laptop Computers
• Eight different mobile phones
• Various offensive weapons
The arrest and recovery of stolen items was made possible after a male Juvenile aged 12, from Mutendere, was apprehended with stolen phones.
During the subsequent interview, the Juvenile cooperated with the police and provided crucial information that led the police to a location in Chibolya Compound where the criminal activities were taking place.
Acting swiftly upon this information, the police raided a rented house in Chibolya Compound and successfully arrested the suspects.
The arrested individuals and recovered items are currently held at the Mtendere Police Station for further investigation.
