The Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security has assured online taxi drivers and the public of government’s commitment to enhancing safety and security in the online taxi business.
Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Permanent Secretary DICKSON MATEMBO says this follows recent cases of some online taxi drivers being attacked and some kidnapped.
Mr. MATEMBO has also reiterated government’s commitment to fostering a secure environment that supports growth and investor confidence.
The Permanent Secretary was speaking during the launch of Yango’s driver safety sensitization training program in Lusaka.
And Public Policy Affairs Vice President ZANYIWE ASARE said the workshop will help in addressing safety and security concerns among taxi drivers and the public.
