Appeal to George Compound Residents for Assistance in Identifying 26 Suspected Junkies in Custody

August 20, 2024-Matero Police Station, through George Police Post, wishes to inform the public that three cases of malicious damage to property incidents were reported. The affected parties are:
1. John Musonda, aged 37, of Barlastone – Property damaged valued at K3,920,00

2. Martha Nachivula, aged 61, of an unknown house in Soweto Compound – Property damaged valued at K5,150,00

3. Charles Makayi, aged 53, of Soweto Compound– Property damaged valued at K1,600,00

In response to these reports, our officers acted swiftly and, in the early hours of today, successfully apprehended 26 individuals: five male adults and 21 juveniles comprising of 18 males and three females suspected of being involved in the criminal activities.

All the suspects are residents of George Compound and are currently in police custody as investigations continue. An identification parade will be conducted to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

We appeal to the residents of George Compound and anyone who could have been a victim of being attacked to come forward and assist the police in identifying the suspects in custody. Your cooperation is crucial to ensure that justice is served, and that the culprits are prosecuted in the courts of law.

Providing first-hand information can significantly enhance the integrity of the investigations and contribute to a safer community for everyone. We assure all informants that their identities will be kept confidential if they wish to remain anonymous.
