Police ‘batter’ female journalists
WHAT started as a social encounter ended with a football battering lesson for Lusaka based female journalists who thought they could match the fitness levels of female police officers.
The journalists followed the well built up officers at their home ground, Edwin Imboela to try and get away with three social football points but the rifle women were alert as they also enjoyed the services of some players from Nkwazi Queens.
Female scribes had actually planned an ambush but the journalists started scampering back and forth breathlessly showing that they could only dance with their hands in writing stories rather than their feet in playing football.
The officers’ pace passed journalists who came out of the game with a consolation goal while netting the women in uniform gave netted seven goals to give the scribes a reminder that the world was created in six days while on Sabbath there was rest.
The game was a marvel to watch as the scribes tried their all to defend and rarely attack but all in futility.
After the final whistle, it was the women in uniform who took the last laugh as they took home a sweet victory leaving the journalists with broken cameras, pens and notebooks scattered all over Imboela natural turf.
