Lusaka… Wednesday February 4, 2026 (SMART EAGLES)
Police in Lusaka have launched investigations into a sh00ting incident that occurred at Yun Ding Bar, located at KK Mall in the Longacres area, on the night of February 1, 2026.
The incident, which happened around 22:30 hours, was reported to police the following day by Mr. Li Zhong Cheng, a 38-year-old Chinese national residing in Longacres.
According to police, Mr. Li reported that he was at the bar with his wife and brother when an altercation broke out involving an unidentified Chinese male.
The confrontation reportedly began after the unidentified man leaned on Mr. Li’s white Toyota Prado, registration number AJF 997, prompting Mr. Li’s wife to ask him to move so they could leave.
“The unidentified male allegedly made an obscene remark, which led to a physical confrontation,” Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said in a statement obtained by Smart Eagles.
Mr. Chilabi explained that police officers stationed at the mall intervened and advised Mr. Li to leave the premises.
However, as he was driving away, another unidentified male allegedly jumped onto the bonnet of the vehicle in an attempt to stop it from leaving.
“Mr. Li reported hearing günsh0ts and fled the scene, after which the person fell off the vehicle within the mall premises,” Mr. Chilabi said.
Preliminary investigations further indicate that as the vehicle reached the second car park within the mall, another unidentified person, suspected to be a Chinese national, allegedly fired sh0ts at the vehicle.
Police inspection later revealed that the vehicle sustained four gü>ñsh0t impacts.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
“The scene was processed, and investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made so far,” Mr. Chilabi said.
