Police have constituted an inquiry into the alleged murder of Zambia Army Soldier, Lance Corporal Platin Mkandawire who was found dead in a guard room after a marital dispute.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga says the inquiry will lead to an inquest hearing were witnesses will be called to give their testimony over what might have happened.
The inquiry follows allegations from relatives of the deceased who claim that the officer was allegedly killed by his colleagues in the process of disciplining him after his wife reported a marital dispute.
And the family has welcomed the development hoping that justice will prevail.
However, Post-mortem results indicate the cause of death was an act of suicide.
Police and the Army on Thursday indicated that preliminary investigations were suggesting that the officer committed suicide.
The deceased has since been put to rest in Lusaka.
