This morning, we joined fellow citizens at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross for national prayers for rains and a good harvest.

As a Christian nation, we affirm God’s supremacy over our land. While praying for rains, our government is shifting focus to irrigating agriculture, utilizing our water bodies to ensure year-round productivity and food security.

We remain committed to making our country energy security through solar, thermal, and other sources. Unity and hard work are key to delivering development. We encourage our fellow citizens to utilise whatever pieces of land they have to grow food.

We thank the church for partnering with us and promoting national unity.

Hakainde Hichilema,
President of the Republic of Zambia.
