LUSAKA – President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed profound sorrow following the death of Emmanuel Bwalya, a second-year student in the School of Humanities at the University of Zambia.
The President described the loss as a tragedy for the student’s family, the university community, and the nation.
“Emmanuel was a young Zambian with a bright future ahead of him,” President Hichilema said, extending his deepest condolences to those who knew him.
He called on students to remain calm and to respond through dialogue and restraint, emphasising a shared resolve to find lasting solutions to challenges facing higher learning institutions.
“No further loss is acceptable. No family should ever receive this kind of news again,” the Head of State added, urging Zambians to keep the bereaved family in their thoughts and prayers.
