Proflight Zambia is making travel more affordable and accessible for families and young travellers with its discount policy. Children and youth can benefit from significant savings on most fares, providing a more economical flying experience.

Under the discount policy, children aged 2-11 and youth aged 12-17 receive a 25% discount on most fares. This initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on families planning their travels.

“For us at Proflight, making travel affordable and accessible for families is a top priority. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore and connect, regardless of age. Our discounts for children and youth reflect this commitment,” said Captain Josias Walubita, Director of Flight Operations.

In addition to the discounts for children and youth, Proflight also offers an even greater discount for families travelling with infants. Infants-on-lap aged 0-23 months will receive a 90% discount, plus certain taxes on all flights, including flash fares. This substantial discount is expected to encourage more family travel and adventures.

The airline has also outlined specific guidelines to ensure the safety of unaccompanied minors. Children aged 5-11 years cannot be booked online if travelling alone; instead, parents or guardians must complete the Unaccompanied Minors Booking Form available on the airline’s website. Additionally, children in this age group are not considered Unaccompanied Minor if accompanied by a passenger aged 16 years or older. There is no charge for the Unaccompanied Minor service on Proflight.

“We understand that parents want to ensure their children are safe when travelling alone. That’s why we have implemented clear guidelines and procedures for unaccompanied minors. Safety is paramount, and we take every measure to ensure a secure and comfortable journey for all our young passengers,” Captain Walubita added.

Youth travellers aged 12-17 are able to book their flights online by specifying the passenger type, simplifying the process for young passengers and their families. This facility is part of Proflight’s ongoing efforts to enhance the travel experience for all customers.

Proflight is also advising parents and guardians about important regulations when flying with minors under the age of 18 years to or from South Africa. According to the South African Immigration Amendment Act of 2010, all minors must present additional documentation regardless of nationality. Non-compliance with these regulations could result in denied boarding.

“Travel regulations can sometimes be complex, especially when flying internationally with minors. We advise all our passengers to review the necessary documentation available on our website well in advance to avoid any issues at the airport. Our team is always available to assist with any questions or concerns,” Captain Walubita emphasised.

Proflight Zambia continues to prioritise safety, affordability, and convenience for families and young travellers. For more information and to book tickets, visit flyzambia.com.
