Rashida Mulenga happy with sport development in Kalulushi

Former Kalulushi mayor Rashida Mulenga has expressed happiness at initiatives aimed at promoting sports development in Kalulushi district.

Mulenga who sponsors various sports disciplines in Kalulushi for young people has encouraged residents to take advantage of initiatives which promotes healthy lifestyles.

The ex – civic leader stresses that an investment in youth sport is crucial in keeping young people busy and away from engaging in bad vices.

Mulenga on Monday spent time at a sporting event in Kalulushi.

The sport promoter was at Kalulushi Stadium watching a pre-season friendly tournament involving teams from copperbelt division 1 and 2 respectively.

She also paid special gratitude to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Copperbelt Province leadership and Kalulushi Modern Stars for organizing what she termed as a fantastic event.

“It is gratifying to see initiatives that promote sports development and community engagement in our region.

As a former Mayor of Kalulushi, I was happy to see our beautiful town “the City of tomorrow ” hosting an event of that magnitude that brings people together and promotes a healthy living,” she said.

“I was impressed by the sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by all the participating team among them Nkumbu FC chingola, Kalulushi Modern FC, Kamfisa Correctional FC Kitwe, Chibuluma Academy FC, Kamfinsa Royal Tigers, and Ichalo Bantu FC of Luanshya,” she added.

Meanwhile, Chibuluma Academy FC and Kamfinsa Correctional FC, will next week Sunday battle it out in the pre – season’s final match.

“Imwe you are all invited next week pa Sunday, come support our stars of tomorrow,” Mulenga said.
