NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Saboi Imboela has urged First Lady Mutinta Hichilema to establish a charity of her own.
In an interview, Imboela pointed out that all the former First Ladies in Zambia have had some charitable organisations of their own, and wondered why Mutinta is not following suit.
She said that all the First Ladies in Africa have some charity organisations of their own that contribute towards addressing the welfare of people in communities.
Imboela stressed that it is high time the office of the First Lady became functional.
“When I raise this issue they say that she is not going to establish a charity of her own, but would instead join the existing charitable organisations….” said Imboela.
