Sleeping Dogs Theory
By Dickson Jere
What an eventful long weekend! I received five inquiries from young people I know who wanted to seek advice and/or retain my services. They have been featured in the infamous PDF booklet. Until their calls, I had no idea that they had been featured – that’s how much I didn’t take the PDF serious.
“It will destroy my career as I am just a student,” one cried profusely, while professing to her innocence.
“Just let it die…” I retorted.

Defamation claims sometimes may open the “can of worms”.
I hasten to add that the foolish behavior of attacking “beautiful women” has been with us for a long time even though in olden days there was no social media. A jilted lover or jealous zealots would scribble graffiti like such and such “is a boss of hule” on walls or tarred roads near the woman house. Nothing was achieved and most of the victims are now high profile personalities notwithstanding.
You see, sometimes silence is golden even in the midst of highest provocation. Nothing hurts your enemies more than your silence. They will even follow you on your social media platforms to attack you but your silence reduces them to nothing – as they are nothing!
Now this PDF conundrum actually relates to most events.
So, before you engage in public discourse about your situation, always gauge the mood and emotions surrounding the subject matter. Your response may just stir things that people may have forgotten or indeed were not aware of. Sometimes suffer peacefully – quietly – outside the public domain. In fact, nobody cares about your situation than your family and close friends. Some will even turn your situation into “memes” and laugh!
Always – practice – the theory of “Let the sleeping dogs lie”.
