NDOLA Central Police has recorded a report of shooting incident which occurred on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at around 13:00 hours at Maria Chimona Area of Masaiti District.
Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Peacewell Mweemba says Police have opened up an inquiry file into the alleged matter of a shooting incident.
He said it is alleged that Sunday Chipulu aged 30 of Masaiti District is suspected to have been shot at by suspected Zambia Army Soldiers of unknown unit.

Mweemba said the victim sustained a bullet wound on the right calf.
He said brief facts of the matter are that the suspected Zambia Army soldiers who were in plain clothes armed with firearms clashed with suspected smugglers.
Mweemba said the development resulted in one suspected Zambia Army Soldier whose details are not known being badly beaten by the mob.
He said in the process the victim was shot at during the confusion as a way of retaliation.
Mweemba said the suspected soldier is currently admitted at Northern Command Military Hospital of Ndola.
He said the victim of a gun shot wound is admitted at Ndola Teaching Hospital and the condition is stable.
