*St. Ignatius Parish brings joy to Levy Mwanawasa Hospital with feeding program*
…as Ackim Antony Njobvu challenges christians to care for needy
It was all joy, happiness and laughter in most wards at Levy Mwanawawasa Hospital on Saturday when Saint. Ignatius parish members conducted a feeding program at the institution.
Patients, medical personnel, and other members of staff at Levy Mwanawawasa hospital were treated to a meal courtesy of St. Ignatius parish of the Roman Catholic church.
The gesture was in celebration of late Fr. Charles Chilinda who was a Jesuit Priest at Lusaka’s Saint Ignatius Parish, known for his kindness and dedication to helping others.
Fr. Chilinda is mostly remembered for his generosity, feeding the homeless on the streets of Lusaka and treating everyone with love and respect.
His feeding program has continued under St. Ignatius parish who on Saturday cooked, fed and ate with brothers and sisters at Levy Mwanawawasa hospital in Lusaka.
Among the notables was Ackim Antony Njobvu, a presidential candidate in the 2026 general elections under the Democratic Union party.
Njobvu, was however, during the event not a politician, but a member of St. Ignatius parish.
As his team went round the wards distribution and serving meals, Njobvu took the opportunity to offer words of encouragement to patients and their bedsiders, preaching that no illness was too small for God to cure.
Known for his charm and charisma, Njobvu severally joked with patients that they would get healed after having the meals, saying the food was prepared with a Godly – touch.
Njobvu also expressed happiness with the turnout from church members, encouraging them to continue with the same spirit of helping one another and caring for the needy, words echoed by Sylvia Musonda, another member.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries expressed thankfulness the gesture by the church.
The feeding program is a continuation of Fr. Chilinda’s legacy of showing love to persons in need.
The event also highlighted the parish’s commitment to community service and paying tribute to Fr. Chilinda’s selfless work.
