PRESS STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS AND INTERNAL SECURITY ON THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE MURDER OF MR. GUNTILA MULEYA,
Update on the Investigation into the murder of Mr. Guntila Muleya, Director General of the Information Broadcasting Authority.
The Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security wishes to provide an update on the ongoing investigation into the tragic and gruesome murder of Mr. Guntila Muleya, the Director General of the Information Broadcasting Authority (IBA). Mr. Muleya was murdered on the evening of 23rd July 2024, at approximately 20:00 hours. The heinous act has shocked and saddened the nation.
The Zambia Police Service launched a comprehensive and thorough investigation into this case. Here are the key developments in the investigation thus far:

The police were quick to respond to the crime scene and have since apprehended five suspects believed to be connected to the murder. These individuals are currently in custody and are being interrogated to gather more information.
