A 24-YEAR-OLD woman has been admitted to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) after ‘good Samaritans’ rescued her from the Kafue River where she had thrown herself and her toddler in an apparent suicide attempt.
However, her two-year-old son, who is believed to have been swept by the current in the crocodile-infested river, is yet to be found.
Copperbelt police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba said in a statement that the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday in Kitwe. The woman has been identified as Agness Musialike.
