The Anti-Corruption Commission Is Lying Complains Amos Chanda

Former State House Spokesperson Amos Chanda has accused the Anti-Corruption Commission of issuing wrong information to the media regarding his summoning for questioning in the ongoing investigations into how he acquired some properties while in the civil service.
Yesterday, ACC Spokesperson Queen Chibwe told the media that the Commission recorded a warn and caution Statement from Mr. Chanda in connection with being in possession of fifteen properties reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.
However, Mr. Chanda explained that the commission was questioning him regarding the ownership of 30 properties and mining licenses, which he alleged that the commission suspects belong to him.
“I can confirm, the ACC summoned me and presented me with a list of over 30 properties and mining licenses which they alleged belonged to me. I exercised my right to remain silent because of all those properties I could only recognize four title deeds in my name, two of which are developed and the others are just bare land acquired from the ministry of lands and various councils. The interrogators assured me that they took note of my position and that no statement would be issued over the matter until they verify ownership” he posted on social media.
During the interview, according to Mr. Chanda, the ACC also “donated” three properties to him located in Roma Park, Lusaka, which include a double storey building in Roma Park, properties he denied belonged to him.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chanda has refused owning the 15 properties and has since challenged the commission to name the said properties title by title, location by location and their physical addresses.
The Former Presidential aide also said that the commission inquired as to how he manages to pay school fees for his two children who are at Baobab College and the one who completed Grade 12 at Saint Mary’s last year.
“The commission also asked how I could afford school fees for my two children who attended Baobab College and the one who completed Grade 12 at Saint Mary’s last year. They also asked what my salary was at Zambia Daily Mail, London Mission and State House. They asked me about 25 cows at the farm, 43 goats and 50 cows in Namwala. They asked me about bank loans aknowwith at least six people I have neither met nor have knowledge of whatsoever” he added.
