After she asked the question the opposition sent her to put across, in whixh she alluded to the PF accusing the president of rhetorics, His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema answered her querry very well and the young lady was not victimised.

The president said, among many things:

1. CDF has been increased and this is not rhetoric.
2. Education is now free and this is not rhetoric.
3. We have social peace and the rule of law and this is not rhetoric.
Meanwhile, in the PF days, cadres would have by now descended on her. I remember cadres in Lundazi urinating onto a journalists face. Cameras would have been confisticaged. A few slaps meted.
In fact, State House staff, under the previous regime, would have already been scheming how to ensure she is barred from the next presser.
Another thing is that in today’s press conference, there was no single question from the public media houses. All questions came from the private media. Our PF friends used to doctor questions. It was a taboo for private sector to ask questions at State House. In fact they could not be allowed in.

In this day and age, we now have freedoms not just on paper. The Press operates as the real fourth estate under The New Dawn Government.
