Independent candidate for the Chasefu North Parliamentary seat, Captain Towani Chipeta, has drilled and equipped an additional 17 boreholes, bringing the total to 31 across Chasefu District.
Chipeta hss since commenced handing them over to communities in both the northern and southern constituencies.
She disclosed that she has been joined by her fellow independent candidate, Gerald Zimba, whom she has endorsed for Chasefu South Constituency.
Chipeta emphasized that livelihood is about meeting people’s basic needs, not t-shirts and vitenges which fade away, but water which remains a fundamental necessity.
She said her commitment to water sanitation began with her first major handover in August 2025, when she drilled 14 boreholes.
Chipeta said with the latest 17, the total now stands at 31.
She has earned recognition across Chasefu District, which has recently been divided into two constituencies, with her standing in the north and her preferred colleague in the south.
Chipeta stressed that teamwork is the mother of all progress, as the duo are seen on the ground together, interacting warmly with the people.
