Choma – based community leader, Joe Muchindu has received support from traditional leaders as their preferred candidate for the Choma central parliamentary seat in next year’s general elections.
Muchindu who has continued engaging community members in the constituency held a developmental meeting that was also attended by 52 village headmen in Siasikabole ward as part of his interactions with members of the community.
The traditional leaders through Siasikabole ngambela encouraged the aspiring parliamenterian to continue with his involvement on community matters affecting the residents in the constituency, adding that the traditional leaders were ready to offer him support in next year’s general elections.
Meanwhile, Muchindu urged the audience and traditional leaders to help President Hakainde Hichilema by highlighting success stories that the President and UPND have scored.
He stated that initiatives such as social cash transfer, cash for work and increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) have changed many lives, a success story he said needed to be shared.
“We have seen that a lot of people in the opposition are fighting the President because they want to de – campaign him ahead of next year’s general elections when he has done well for this country since assuming power. We should not allow that” Muchindu said.
Muchindu also urged the audience, particularly young people to take advantage of the current on – going issuance of National Registration Cards – NRCs and aquire the document which would enable them participate in the 2026 elections.
He added that his team remains committed to driving the developmental agenda, adding that that would only happen with the full participation of traditional leaders as well as members of the community
