Trevor Ng’andu, popularly known as “Uncle T,” and the Socialist Party’s candidate in the 2022 Kabwata by-election, has announced his resignation from both the party and active politics.

In a letter addressed to the Socialist Party Secretary General and dated 22 November 2024, Mr. Ng’andu stated that the time had come for him to redirect his energy toward other pursuits.

He expressed his commitment to expanding his work with Home of Faith and David Orphanage, alongside other philanthropic initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society.

The former candidate emphasised his desire to make a meaningful impact outside the political arena through his humanitarian efforts.
