Unknown people have dumped a fully developed baby in a pit Latrine in Kamwala South Lusaka.

The baby was discovered yesterday around 22:00 hours by the Caretaker at the same house which is shared by many tenants.

Deputy Police spokesperson Danny Mwale has confirmed the incident.

Mwale said the police were alerted and together with the community members retrieved the body of the baby girl from the pit latrine.

He stated the body is in University Teaching Hospitals mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial while Investigations have been instituted.
