The University of Zambia (UNZA) has announced the death of a Second Year student from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
In a press release issued on 1st April 2026, UNZA Council and Management confirmed that the student lost his life on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, describing the development as deeply saddening.
“It is with profound sadness that the University of Zambia Council and Management inform the public, the University community and the student populace that a Second Year student in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences lost his life last evening,” the statement reads.
The institution has however stated that further details surrounding the identity of the deceased student and the unfortunate incident will only be shared once the next of kin has been officially informed.
UNZA Council and Management have since conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire student body during this difficult period.
