Copperbelt-based Clergyman Pastor Charles Chileshya has commended Vedanta Resources for its commitment to employing Zambians in key positions within its mining firm.
This recognition comes in light of Vedanta’s engagement of a Zambian Masuzyo Ndhlovu in a significant role within the company, whose regular updates on its mining vision and other vital information have been fundamental in keeping stakeholders informed.
Pastor Chileshya has further praised Mr Ndhlovu for his strategic instrumental role in the Vedanta process, particularly throughout the company’s recent transition.
“Mr Ndhlovu’s qualifications and competence have been invaluable to Vedanta because his contributions have significantly added value to the mining firm,” pastor Chileshya observed.
In a statement, Pastor Chileshya encouraged Vedanta to continue prioritizing the welfare and employment of Zambians and emphasized that the success of the company is closely tied to the prosperity of the local workforce.
“By investing in local expertise, Vedanta not only enhances its operational efficiency but also supports the economic development of our nation,” he added.
The pastor’s commendation highlights the importance of multinational companies like Vedanta in fostering local employment and contributing to the growth and development of the communities in which they operate.
