A 25-year-old woman from Old Kabanana Compound in Choma has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by the Magistrate Court for stealing K70 000 cash.
This is a matter in which Luyando Mweetwa stood charged with one count of theft by servant contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offence are that on 5th April, 2023, Mweetwa, jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown, being a servant of Christopher Chanda as a Sales Lady, did steal the aforementioned amount which came into her possession by virtue of her employment.
In passing judgment, Magistrate Ethel Phiri found Mweetwa guilty stating that the State had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore convicted her to 12 months.
