A woman who was allegedly raped by Maina Soko intern doctor Waza Lungu has told the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that she was too weak to resist and could only ask what he was doing as he pulled her sweatpants slightly below her knees.

The victim, who is a military trainee, testified that Dr. Lungu, while on duty, entered her ward, covered the camera with masking tape, closed the door, pinned her hands crossed above her head, and climbed on top of her.

She explained that she had collapsed during training and was admitted to the hospital, where her mother runs a canteen.

When asked by the defence lawyer whether there was any kissing involved, the victim responded in the negative.

The court has granted permission for a visit to the hospital room where the incident allegedly occurred for a live demonstration.

Dr. Lungu was arrested on March 5 last year on charges of rape.

He has denied any wrongdoing.
