The Mazabuka Magistrate Court has sentenced a 19-year-old male general worker of Young Phiroz General Dealers to 1-year imprisonment for stealing 2 phone chargers, 3 barbing machines and 2 cell phones valued at over K1700.
Byta FM Court Beat Journalist reports that this is in a matter where Cacious Chuungu of Apolo area in Mazabuka, was charged with theft by servant.
Particulars of the offence are that between 1st March and 21st April this year, the accused did steal the items which came into his possession by his employment at Young Phiroz.
Chuungu however denied the charge when the matter came up for judgement.
And in passing judgement, the court sentenced him to one year imprisonment with hard labour with effect from 16th May the date of arrest.
