All roads in Munali Constituency on Sunday led to Mahatma Ghandi grounds in Mtendere compound to witness a final match of the off season soccer tournament.
And Young United football team has scooped this year’s tournament that saw 16 teams taking part.
In what was dubbed as a local derby involving two teams from Kalikiliki, All Stars Football club scored first in the first half, but had their goal cancelled five minutes later after pressure from their opponents, making the game 1-1.
Going into the second half, Young United continued piling pressure and managed to get two more goals, beating All Stars 3-1 at the final whistle.
And Chrispin Chiinda who graced the event pledged continued support to activities that are aimed at keeping young people busy and away from negative vices.
Chiinda announced that next on the menu is an independence sports tournament which will be held in Kalikiliki compound.
