A Zambia Air Force (ZAF) officer has reportedly battered his wife to near death experience after a marital dispute at ZAF-Twin palm Base.
The matter which has since been reported to the Ibex police, GBV section and awaiting action to have the officer apprehended.
It’s alleged that the named Warrant Officer class 2 was found by his wife busy on the cellphone sharing a passionate conversation with a woman lover after he returned from operation duties in Mongu. After she grabbed the phone, to question him, he went into a rampage, beating and tossing the wife like a rug doll breaking household goods and causing serious facial and bodily injuries.

The family to the wife of over 15 years with 3 children, have advised the wife to leave the marital home for fear of being killed by her Military husband and for her to access medication attention with palliative care in Choma where her father resides.
The officer is known for his outburst of violence and barbaric acts against his wife especially after alcohol Intake and his infidelity is evident in his vulgar utterances and in the way he treats his wife as this is not the first time he has been called to resolve Marital matters.
Military officers should be looked upon as disciplined and respectable personnel but he brings shame to the military wing. The family seeks the intervention of the superiors and indeed the police to bring the culprit to book.
March is a month for Gender Based Violence Awareness and all eyes are on the Commander In Chief President Hakainde Hichilema to see if he will discipline his ZAF OFFICER bearing in mind that he recently addressed the Nation over Values and principles where he discouraged Gender Based Violence.
