ZAMBIA HAS RECENTLY BEEN HAVING “ACCIDENTAL” PRESIDENTS, HENCE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS – NJOBVU

By Francis Chipalo

The Democratic Union (DU) says Zambia continues to have similar challenges in recent years because the country has been ruled by “accidental” Presidents who have no idea on what to do to liberate the nation.

Sharing his views on the current affairs in the nation on KBN TV, Thursday night, Democratic Union President Ackim Antony Njobvu said Zambia cannot sort out its problems with the same minds that created them.

The DU leader passionately spoke on the need to have young people with innovative ideas taking the front seat in Zambia’s governance affairs, further emphasizing the need to retire recycled leaders whom he said had done their part and needed to take the back seat.

The outspoken politician noted that the country has in recent years been under the stewardship of people who never expected to be leaders (Presidents), but that they just found themselves on the seat, hence continued misery being faced.

He said that with an innovative cabinet, driven by leaders with fresh ideas, Zambia’s status can easily be trasnformed.

And Njobvu stated that President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration has seemingly failed to manage the country four years after being elected into office as it was full of ‘tired’ leaders who had outlived their usefulness.

Njobvu has since called on young people in the country to begin joining the DU as a movement ahead of the 2026 general elections, adding that in the absence of unity, the country will remain doomed as it be in the hands of people with out – dated ideas.

The oppostion leader has declared that he is ready to take over from President Hichilema next year, further advising HH to begin preparing for his departure.
