The Zambia Police Service has clarified that claims of a man causing private parts to disappear in Chingola are unfounded.
Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi explained that a 61-year-old suspect was apprehended on March 14, 2026, after allegedly tapping men on the shoulder.
Chilabi stated that five complainants reported feeling a strange sensation and believing their private parts had vanished following the contact.
He noted that a thorough investigation, including a voluntary check of the complainants, confirmed there was no physical harm or evidence to support the allegations.
The spokesperson further indicated that the suspect was released after the full investigation found no suspicious items in his possession.
Chilabi emphasised that members of the public must avoid taking the law into their own hands, as mob justice remains unlawful.
He added that the police service encourages citizens to continue reporting incidents through established legal channels.
