Zambia is fully prepared to host the Environmental Protection Dialogue 2026.
Centre for Environment Justice (CEJ) Executive Director Maggie Mapalo Mwape announced the launch of the EPD 2026 and its official website.
Mwape emphasised that the country stands ready to welcome over 700 delegates to Lusaka.
She highlighted that the dialogue will focus on sustainable mine waste management and environmental protection.
Mwape revealed that the event will take place from 14th to 16th October 2026 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
She pointed out that Zambia has hosted five successful EPDs between 2020 and 2024.
Mwape affirmed that the 2026 edition will build on past successes and expand stakeholder engagement.
She stressed the importance of addressing tailings dam failures and promoting environmental safety.
Mwape disclosed that traditional leaders, civil society, and international partners will actively participate.
She underlined that the EPD 2026 theme reflects Zambia’s commitment to sustainable development.
Mwape remarked that the newly launched website, https://epd.cejzambia.org/epd2026/, will serve as a hub for information and coordination.
She urged all stakeholders to unite in safeguarding Zambia’s environment for future generations.
