ZAMBIA SHARES AND LEARNS BEST PRACTICES AT 2024 CBR/CBID CONFERENCE

Zambia has joined the rest of Africa in commemorating the 2024 7th Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)/Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID) Africa Conference.

The conference which is being held under the theme “Advancing CBR/CBID for a Disability Inclusive Society,” is currently underway in Entebbe, Uganda and will run until Thursday 12th September.

The 6th conference was held in Lusaka, Zambia in 2018 and this marks the 23rd anniversary of the CBR Africa, whose network currently has a membership of 58 countries.

The Zambian delegation is being led by Hon. Joseph Munsanje Member of Parliament for Mbabala Constituency in Choma, Southern province.

Present at the conference is the Director General of the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) , Mr Frankson Musukwa, officials from the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services ( MCDSS), United Nations officials, rights holders, representatives of Disability Service Organizations and Organizations of/for Persons with Disabilities.

Amongst the Zambian institutions making presentations are MCDSS, ZAPD, Disability Rights Watch, and more.

The conference will contribute towards learning and exchanging best practices on disability inclusion strategies across the continent that would be valuable to achieving a number of milestones in Zambia.
