Visiting Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba says Zambia has been included in a Ukraine Aid Program aimed at delivering the much needed assistance to mitigate the impacts of the current drought on the country’s food security.
The Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister is undertaking the fourth African tour of Malawi, Mauritius and Zambia with the aim of continuing building relations with African countries.
Speaking at state house when he conferred with President Hakainde Hichilema this morning, Mr. Kuleba also paid gratitude for Zambia’s political solidarity with Ukraine amidst ongoing Russian aggression.
Mr Kuleba has highlighted Ukraine’s strong human capital and readiness to contribute to global peace, acknowledging the pivotal role Africa could play in resolving the conflict.
Meanwhile, President Hakainde Hichilema has underscored the urgent need for a global consensus to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
President Hichilema reiterated his administration’s firm stance against war and called for the conflict to be resolved through peaceful means and stressed the importance of global cooperation to promote stability and peace.
And the Head of State also said there is need to enhance bilateral relations between Zambia and Ukraine focused on improved trade and investment opportunities that would benefit the citizens of both nations.
