The Zambian Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting transparency, intellectual debate, and the free exchange of ideas as key pillars of democracy.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana underscored this dedication during a book launch in Lusaka, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Director of Planning, Louis Mwansa.
Mr. Kawana stated that nurturing freedom of thought and supporting literature empowers citizens to write, read, and speak without fear—strengthening national institutions and democracy.
He praised those who choose expression over silence, dialogue over division, and evidence over assumption.
Meanwhile, author Gregory Chifire shared that the publication aims to contribute to the development of Zambia’s judicial system, fostering reflection and reform.
