A 40-year old illegal miner of Chambishi in Kalulushi, on the Copperbelt, has died after being hit by falling stones at NFCA Mine.

BRIAN LUFUMA, who was mining illegally with his friends, met his fate yesterday when stones fell on him while he was digging for minerals in a cave.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, PEACEWELL MWEEMBA says LUFUMA was rushed to Chambishi Government Clinic where he later died.

Mr. MWEEMBA says the friends of the deceased have since disappeared and Police are not able to visit the scene of the accident.

He says the body has been deposited in Chambishi Government Clinic mortuary.
