A MUFULIRA herbalist will have to explain how his medicine ended up allegedly killing his client who was seeking to be healed of the stomach pains.
Haggai Chansa, 24 has lost his life after he allegedly took medicine administered by herbalist, Joseph Katongo.
According to Copperbelt province police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba, Chanda’s mother Annie Bulaya reported that her Son died after taking some herbs administered to him by Katongo Joseph who claims to be an herbalist.
“Brief facts are that the deceased knocked off from work on Monday March 18, around 17:30 hours and complained to the mother that he was feeling some stomach pains.
However, on tuesday March 19 around 19:00 hours, after knocking off from work he went home with some herbs and told the mother that he wanted to boil the concoction given to him by Katongo.
“After putting two cups of water to mix the herbs. After, boiling and cooling the same he consumed the same on Wednesday morning around 07:00 hours but vomited, and again after coming back from work around 17:30 hours, he drunk the same concoction around 20 :00hrs
“However, soon thereafter, he started complaining of severe stomach, chest pains and started feeling dizzy. After that, he was rushed to the hospital where he was admitted and died soon after around 02:00 hours to 03:00hours,” Mr Mweemba said.
