The Zambia Chinese Association has urged citizens to embrace hardwork for the betterment of the nation.
And the association has hailed the continued cordial relations between Zambia and the Chinese community that has existed for over 60 years
Association’s chairman Wu Ming says it is only through hardwork that Zambians can only develop their own country.
Ming bemoans negative attitudes towards work by some citizens especially young people.
He however says the Chinese businesses community remains committed to contributing to the country’s development, providing various skills to locals.
He says by embracing hardwork, Zambians can develop the nation themselves without depending on outsiders.
He was speaking in an exclusive interview.
Meanwhile, advises young people to desist from alcohol abuse which he observed was a major contributor to their unproductiveness.
He said many opportunities had been created for young people, but was quick to note laziness in some of them.
“I have observed that some young people spend most of their time abusing alcohol and once drunk, they fail to work. Others when they get paid they stop coming for work,” he said.
But Ming expressed conviction that with the right kind of attitude towards work, Zambia would be better than what it is.
“You need to work hard for yourself, your family and your nation. It is all about hard work and learning from others,” he added
